Spread the love

It is best to approach a victim at a safe and confidential location. As a friend or concerned family member, take time to listen and believe their story; let them know how much you care about their safety.

Let them know they are smart, strong and brave. Importantly, respect the victim’s choices, but encourage them to build a wide support system.

Being patient is key. When a victim is finally ready to make a decision, connect them to helpful domestic violence resources, like local Help Lines and National Domestic Violence Hotlines. It’s important— let take care of one another!
